Mer...

Bah! So I can handle one little rubber foot falling off...but then it was two little rubber feet falling off, and slightly scratched furniture because of it. And then...keys began to mysteriously stick. Nevermind the fact that I have taken very good care of this little machine. I have never spilled anything on it, I use compressed air to blow out the dust and debris that falls on the key board, and I clean the nooks and crannies with little q-tips gently moistened with isopropyl aclohol..just like Martha Stuart told me to! I even kept the little stickers on the monitor so that it wouldn't get any scratches on it for as long as possible...I felt a little wierd about that...but I learned it from Ron..a guy that I greatly admire and respect. Anyhoo... The point being is that I have taken very good care of this thing, and it's falling apart bit by bit. It freezes up mysteriously some times, and it wouldn't even open or do an emergency recovery very recently..but then mysteriously worked next time!?! For a few weeks my Control key wouldn't work (I love that key..I really do! Those weeks were torture!) But then it mysteriously started to work again. But now the battery won't hold a charge for 20 minutes! WTF! So I finally called in to Best Buy, where I bought the thing. And they said that I would have to call Toshiba since I didn't buy the massively overpriced service plan with them, and that it was under warranty with Toshiba. So I called the mother ship...registered my computer for the 1 year warranty, got transferred to tech support, who then told me that my warranty had expired!?! -Excuse me? I JUST did it! I did not buy this computer over a year ago! Bah! After talking to 3 different people, I asked one of them if I just registered my computer...then how do you have the date of December 23rd, 2007 for the expiration date of my warranty? Because I KNOW I DID NOT BUY MY COMPUTER ON DECEMBER 23RD 2006! And the guy told me that if a person does not register for their warranty, then Toshiba automatically puts in a date for them...and since this computer first began being manufactured in 2006, they automatically put in the date of 2007 for the expiration. THIS MADE SENSE! I vaguely recall that part of the reason my computer was such a good deal, was because it was a model that was on it's way out. It was still great, but there was something newer and better coming in. SO...now I have to find my original reciept...and fax it into Toshiba...I have it...I just have to find it. Before the warranty expires. :-P I knew I should have called the second I had any problems..if I had done that...I would have gotten in before even Toshiba's early deadline! Bah!
