Mt. Whitney

Good news: I have been invited to go on an expedition! A friend of mine climbs Mt. Whitney every year. I was so impressed and excited to hear about it. And she said I should come with her. Apparently you have to apply for your permit in the early part of February, because the park service has a limited number of permits they will issue, so that the mountain doesn't get too trampled on by mankind. I really want to go. She does it as a day-hike! A 22 mile day hike. Holy kershmackerbies! I better get myself into training. The good part is, I've already done hikes that are close-ish to this one. (a little over 1,000 ft. elevation difference) ….although I never climbed to the top and then all the way down the mountain again…I climbed to the top and then down to a comfortable base camp half way down the mountain. -So that'll be different. I'm stoked about the adventure. And it'll also be something that will be doable with my mom, particularly because my friend is a get in and get out kinda girl. The trip will only take a few days. J Woosie hoosie! Here's to the adventure we call life!
