Current mood:
okay
Today began well. I began my new painting. It's a copy of John Singer Sargent's Madame X. I'm pretty stoked about how it's coming along. I took my mom out to lunch. And then went back to class for some finishing toches on my first draft of the painting. Then I walked the dog. On the walk, I stopped by the JC and picked up two tickets for my mom and I to see the dance show this weekend. And then proceeded to take the dog on a super long walk. Somewhere on Mc Donald Ave. my dog got into a little bit of a scuffle with a bichon frise. J-lo ended up sweeping around me and tripping me with her leash. I fell, and bruised my knee and scraped my elbow. -Lameness! I grabbed the dog because the last thing I wanted was for her to bite this beautiful little fluffball. After that, I limped home. My elbow was bleeding. It sucked.
When I got to my block, I saw 2 police cars and an ambulance. Some of my neighbors were in their front yard gossiping about what was happening. They didn't even look at me or say anything to me, so I thought it must be about Millie. It wasn't. It was my mom. :-P -More lameness. Apparently, my mom was walking around the block. (something that we've been working up to for like...um...2 years! So it's actually an acomplishment for her.) And one of the neighbors stopped her and started talking to her. My mom seemed confused. (She always seems confused.) So they called the police. The police asked my mom what the date was. And of course she didn't know. Then they asked her what month it was, but she didn't know that either. I explained that that was like a trick question to her. But she does know where she lives, and to only go around the block and come home. Millie came out of the house and said that she knew the situation and that it was fine if my mom stayed with her until I got home. But the police said that Millie seemed confused too, so they couldn't let my mom go with her. So they called an ambulance. And took her away. I asked them to stop the ambulance and have them bring her home. They did. According to my mom, "nothing happened". She said she was just walking around the block, and then the next thing she knew, they were taking her away in an ambulance. "I knew where I lived. I guess I just wasn't good at explaining it to them."
This last part was a little sucky. But over all, my day went well.
