Tilex. One of the most caustic things that I have ever encountered. Even as I begin to spray it, I instinctively turn my head away in disgust, and begin to take short, shallow, breaths It feels as if my bronchioles and alveoli are just being chemically burn and withered. I spray then vacate the premises, leaving the window open but the door shut, so that the excess fumes can leave the room, so that when I return, there is hopefully still some oxygen left to breathe. I leave my flip flops in the room too. One time I wore them out of the bathroom, and I ended up bleaching the hardwood floor with my footstep. I still use tilex, only because it is the best thing ever for cleaning the mildew stains that creep back around the edge of the tub. What I really need to do is dig out all of the grout and caulk, disinfect it with bleach, and then put in clean new grout and caulk. The mildew is underneath the caulk, so that's the only real solution. But tilex is caustic enough to seep in and kill the surface layer, and buy me a bit of time with a *clean* enough bathroom.
I'm going in... Where's my gas mask?
