How do you deal with crazy? I don't think there is a way to successfully deal with crazy. I called my tenant and left a message asking her to bring the rent by. It's due *BY* the 1st. She is habitually late...and flaky. She'll bring whatever random amount she *thinks* her rent is!?! So I called her again yesterday because I hadn't received the rent or heard from her. She left a message saying that she got rid of all of these cars and cleaned up the property...and this is the thanks she gets. (SHE did not actually do any of those things...but she DID actually break her smoke alarms ...which were connected by electrical wiring to the crazy ass expensive alarm system she insisted I install for her safety...and then proceeded to call the city code inspector and cause major problems for me...all over minor shit like her stupid broken smoke alarms...which her crazy ass broke in the first place! As for cleaning up the property...I ...let me say that again IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII am the one who had the other tenant take out her playset, and also in the process of that she (as a favor to me) toted off the weight machine that my crazy tenant's son's girlfriend left strewn on my rosebushes! ) I have figured it out ...there is no negotiating with crazy people. You can't win. They don't understand logic. All of this is totally unrelated to the fact that the rent is due on time, in full, on the 1st not the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, or whenever you fucking feel like it which turns out to be a week late on the 7th. She's going out of town for the weekend, and she'll bring the rent by on Monday. Monday..the 7th. BAH! So now we get the fun of dealing with late fees. I hate this. Why can't she just pay her rent, in full, on time. No biggie. WHY??? I need to relax about this. I need to get a great new job so that I have enough money to be able to find a new tenant who is good, and sane, and nice, and reliable. I want low maintenance. I want on time. I want normal.
