Hot Night -Cool Dinner

"Where did it go? I've got one of them." -This is what my mom said tonight. I was giving her *a* painkiller. She was so cute. I rarely ever give her painkillers. Her doctors have us well supplied. But she rarely uses them. So the idea of taking *two* painkillers was so funny to me. We both broke into giggle fits over it. ...Oh well...I guess you just had to be there. It was pretty funny in person.
We had the nicest simple dinner. It was so hot that the thought of firing up the stove was pretty much unbearable to me. So, we had deep bowls of corn flakes with heaping mounds of fresh raspberries on top. We ate the whole large container of raspberries. Partway through...I realized that this is how cereal was meant to be. None of this crap like I had as a kid...where you dole out the raspberries 2 or 3 at a time. ...No sirree... We had our fill. It was awesome. And considering how few times we have ever indulged in such lovely mounds of raspberries...it was a special treat for both of us. It was really simple. But it made us both really smiley and happy tonight. Eating it out of a nice, sturdy, antique piece of stoneware was nice too. It felt good in the hand. Cool to the touch on a warm Summer eve.
