I Can't Believe I Said That!

March 5th, 2009; 6:50 PM
Groovy-pants day at work. Good people. Actual *fun*...Real bonafide *fun* and laughter at work. I am liked there. And I really like the people I work with too. :)
Had a non-filter moment with a co-worker/friend. Managed to stick foot in mouth numerous times repeatedly with same guy. :P First told him his new haircut was too short, and that he looked better before. (What I was trying to get at was that I really liked his hair....I somehow managed to miss the point completely.) Then I told him that I was surprised by the "Hakuna Matata" youtube video he wanted us to watch...because it was so wholesome and cheerful. WTF! Not that he's *not* wholesome and cheerful...it's just that he's usually very metropolitan and cool. And I really liked seeing his sweet side. Finished my winning spree with telling him how his cooking reminded me of a story my friends dad told me once: He was in charge of food services at a federal prison, and when the prisoners would act up or there was a riot, the next day they would get "the loaf"; it met their nutritional needs but wasn't pretty or tasty. Bear in mind the guy at work had just told me that he puts everything into a big pot and cooks it together. I was surprised because he seems like a foodie. But I guess that's only when he eats out? Anyhoo... Yeah. I apologised. What a dork! :P This is the great thing about friends -they forgive you for your shortcomings. :)
