Writer's Block: Brand Loyalty

  • Sep. 14th, 2008 at 12:48 PM
Floppy Bunny Mess
Why are you loyal to certain brands/stores? What keeps you coming back?
I have no brand loyalty. -That's stupid. All that I really care about is: 1. Is it cute?, 2. Does it fit?, 3. How much is it? 4. Can I get it for a better price elsewhere?
That is literally how my brain works when shopping.
The things that keep me coming back to the same places are usually my size (I'm a chunky mamma) however, I am not busty enough for Torrid...their idea of plus sized apparently has enormous boobs! How much money I have to spend on clothes also plays a strong role. I remember getting a big bag of clothes from this really rich friend of mine once, who had lost a lot of weight. All of her clothes were from Saks 5th Avenue. And they were great! If I could afford to shop there, I probably would. But I would much rather get a few pieces that I love than just one, due to price. The size thing is what really keeps me coming back. But I plan to change that. I would love to have hip clothes that were a steal! I think that is really easy to do when you are an average size.

I don't know, it's definitely not easy at my size and I'm just a little chunky...I guess. I don't know, my perception of myself is grossly out of whack probably, I think I'm a fattyfat :D

Anyway, I think unless you're super thin, and even then you could be TOO thin, nothing fits right.

Also--I shop exactly how you do :)

You are so not a "fattyfat"! You my dear, are a cutiecute!

Thanks for your comment. It made me feel better. It's good to know that no matter what your size...we all have issues finding cute stuff. I still think it's way easier and cheaper the smaller you are. For years I felt held hostage by Lane Bryant because that was the only store that I could find clothes in that fit, and didn't look like I raided my Grandmother's closet (too much) :-P Anyhoo... I still remember how it felt to get down to a size where I could shop at regular stores like Old Navy, Target, or ze fabulous Kohls!!! I almost never go to Lane Bryant now. Their prices are so silly! I remember paying about $75 for a pair of pants in season. And they weren't even made well. It was a rip off. They knew they had a captive audience and took advantage of that by gouging them. Now I want to get down to a size where I can shop anywhere. That would be awesomesauce! Covered in coolness! And hipness!
