I Am Home.

Current mood:blessed

It's Summertime...
I began this day at home. I feel especially happy that my mom and I had a chance to sit down and eat breakfast together. So much of the time it seems like I'm rushing about, and I often times make her breakfast and serve it to her in bed, and then I will scarf down mine while getting ready, or just not eat one. Today, we ate calmly, together. It was really nice. I made us parfaits with yogurt, fresh cut fruit, and hemp granola. She really liked it. I'm digging the yogurt and fruit thing...we had it with drizzled honey for dessert last week.
I went to the gym and did my cardio this morning. There are some really nice treatmills that have an optional incline, that are new at the gym I go to. They even go slow enough that I think it's worth trying with my mom. She might be able to do it on the lowest level. I did some crazy speedy speedy level with an incline, and was proud of myself for being smart enough to reduce the incline and speed when my knee felt a little twingy.
I got to Thea's early. The drive to work was nice. I found myself really looking forward to going to work today, even though it's my 6th day of work. It was hot out there, but luckily I brought my lavender water with me for instant organic airconditioning. At times I even put it in the freezer to make it extra refreshing. I had a great day. And found myself dancing and just having a lot of fun with my customers. It felt really good.
I presented a new get away idea to Sash and Thea, and both of them seemed really keen on checking it out. Mar Vista! It's up by Gualala. They have a cluster of little cottages that they rent out that overlook the ocean. When you arrive, they give you a basket of fresh organic veggies from their garden and farm fresh eggs too! The sense of humor is great with the owners. They have two pygmy goats named Pygmalion and Mister Higgins (hehe). My Fair Lady was great, as was Pygmalion (-which I'm surprised to see *anyone* reference besides a movie critic, one of my film instructors, or that guy at Video Droid!) You can pick veggies from their garden, and pick sweet peas for your table. From what I've seen the way they decorated the rooms is totally to my liking. It's kind of chill, relax, rustic, shabby chic, beach house, get away, feeling to me. The cottages have wood burning stoves. And I like the idea of being close to the ocean but also with your own little respite. It would be fun to go rent one of these cottages for the weekend.
I came home, and my mother was not feeling well. She was really sick. So I decided to stay in tonght and just be with her. She was fine. I think it's the heat. I had dinner with her, and made her eat lots of fresh fruit. Watermellon and grapes are a good way of sneaking in moisture when she doesn't feel like drinking water. In the end, I tucked her in bed with the dog watching over her. She's good now. I think her just knowing that I love her enough to stay in when she's not feeling well, made her feel loved, and that also contributed to her recovery.
I was a little bummed to miss Alexia's party...and the swimming pool, hot tub, hanging with my friends, wishing Alexia well, and congradulating her in general on her awesomeness...not to mention her amazing cooking...but it was good to stay in. It was the right thing to do, and it was also quite nice. I go go go so much, that it's nice to have some down time.
.....Ahhh.... And now it all comes back to my love of schlepping. Schlepping's the best! You know what though? For some serious hard core schlepping...I need a better couch. Right now all that I have is my vintage loveseat and two very cool chairs. But I need a loungy loungy couch. Couchy-poo....I'm keeping my eyes peeled for you.
