All of the advertising must be working because lately I've found myself really wanting a pair of Bonsai Shearling lined flip flops! Crazy I know. When I first saw them my instinctive thought was "Ugh!..Now that's a new brand of *ugly*" ...And now..I want them. I must wash my brain out with some good wholesome television to knock this thought out of my head. Everytime I sign in to livejournal I see them...and I find myself curling my little tootsies and wriggling them about wondering how good it would feel to have them nestled into a pair of those super cush flip flops. I already own too many pairs as it is. I currently own 3 pairs! I wear one of them (my reefs) almost every day...I remember practically choking on the cost of them when I first bought them. But they turned out to actually be worth the money. Now strangely...Ross in Santa Rosa has a bunch of reefs in and they even have a pair identical to mine in style..but the sole is pink instead of black...and they are selling them for only $4.99!!! Mine were an ungodly sum...(for flip flops...) And I'm tempted to go buy some for this massively discounted price just because I know that one day ..my flip flops *will* wear out! And when they do..I could have a nice pair in reserve just waiting for that day...I have talked myself out of this idea because I am currently trying to dejunk my house as it is..and so even though the price is right...I will just use the 3 pairs I have up...and when the day comes to get a new pair..I will just pony up the bucks for the full sticker price. Besides..my taste changes..who knows what style phase I'll be in when they do wear out? The girl at the surf shack who had a pair just like mine said that she'd had hers for years. I've had mine for about 2 years now..and they're still pretty nice. Agh..It's a sad sad truth..I am a flip flop junkie. I have my brown reefs for general everyday wear. My olive and pink reefs for going to the gym..I mainly use them now as shower shoes..but sometimes I wear them out too..And my satin black with pink poka dots flip flops for special occasions...(I'm not sure what yet...) I've only worn these a few times in part because they are so cute, I feel a little self conscious if I wear them out without a pedicure. Silly. But those shoes are so cute I barely wear them.
