Wisdom for Modern Life by Daisaku Ikeda
Tuesday, June 23, 2009
If a person is hungry, we should give them bread. When there is no bread, we can at least give words that nourish. To a person who looks ill or is physically frail, we can turn the conversation to some subject that will lift their spirits and fill them with the hope and determi-nation to get better. Let us give something to each person we meet: joy, courage, hope, assurance, philosophy, wisdom, a vision for the future. Let us always give something.

Random Cool Stuff

Current mood:happy

Today, I received a box of Girl Scout Cookies! I had helped out a woman yesterday, who was a girl scout leader. And she came into my work today and brought me a thank you box of cookies! It was so nice. And super awesome.

Additionally...I found this on the web.
It's a quickie intro to numerology. Hmmmm. Apparently my *destiny number* is 11.
"11 is enlightened, deep, and high-strung" -Yup. That's me.

Another side note:
I saw two small children, race across a busy intersection (when it was their time to cross of course!), only to flag down a bus. At first I thought their mom had sent them ahead to hold the bus. But she hadn't. In the end, the children were just enthusiastic. They were so excited by seeing a bus and getting the chance to catch the drivers attention. They might have known someone on the bus. (Most likely.) ...As they walked away, the children yelled over their shoulders. "I love you! Bye! Love you!" It was so touching. It made my day. Adults rarely show this type of enthusiasm. -Lest they appear rediculous, crazy, or...crazy! But I remember greeting my loved ones like this as a child. And it didn't take much to be one of my *loved ones*. I loved everyone then. And life I have to say (when you embrace it with that type of attitude and approach) is so brilliant, and wonderful...and much more full of love.
